Piet is an esoteric programming language, created by David Morgan-Mar and named after the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, in which programs are abstract images composed of blocks of color arranged into a two-dimensional grid, resembling abstract art in the style of Mondrian's own geometric paintings. A Piet program's instruction pointer moves through the image, with each transition between colored blocks corresponding to an operation such as addition, input or output.
