Version 7 Unix

Version 7 Unix, also called Seventh Edition Unix or simply V7, was an important early release of the Unix operating system, released in 1979 as the last Bell Laboratories release to see widespread distribution before AT&T Corporation began commercializing Unix in the early 1980s. It was originally developed for the PDP-11 minicomputers made by Digital Equipment Corporation and was later ported to other computing platforms.
