The Cray Operating System, known as COS, is a Cray Research operating system for the now-discontinued Cray-1 and Cray X-MP supercomputers. It succeeded the Chippewa Operating System and remained the main Cray operating system until replaced by UNICOS in the late 1980s, and it was delivered together with Cray Assembly Language, Cray FORTRAN and Pascal.
