The Michigan Terminal System, known as MTS, is one of the first time-sharing computer operating systems. Created in 1967 at the University of Michigan for IBM System/360-67, System/370 and compatible mainframe computers, it was developed and used over a period of 33 years by a consortium of eight universities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
