Oren Etzioni is an American computer scientist, professor emeritus at the University of Washington and founding chief executive officer of the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence. He also founded the AI2 Incubator and established TrueMedia.org, a nonprofit that worked to detect political deepfakes before it announced in January 2025 that it would cease operations and open source its technology.
