Pedro Felipe Felzenszwalb is a computer scientist and professor at Brown University who earned a BS in computer science from Cornell University in 1999. His research centers on computer vision, geometric algorithms and artificial intelligence, and he is best known for the paper Object Detection with Discriminatively Trained Part-Based Models, developing the deformable parts model method for detecting objects in images and video. He received the Association for Computing Machinery's Grace Murray Hopper Award in 2013 for his contributions to object recognition in pictures and video, and the Longuet-Higgins Prize twice, in 2010 and 2018, for fundamental contributions to computer vision.
