Christos Faloutsos

Christos Faloutsos is a Greek computer scientist born in Athens, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University whose research addresses data mining for streams and networks, fractals, and indexing methods for multimedia and bio-informatics databases. He earned degrees from the National Technical University of Athens and the University of Toronto before joining the University of Maryland and later Carnegie Mellon. He has published more than 300 articles and holds several patents, and his honors include the Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation, twenty two best paper awards, the ACM SIGKDD Innovation Award, and election as an ACM Fellow.
