David Maier

David Maier (born June 2, 1953, in Eugene, Oregon) is the Maseeh Professor of Emerging Technologies in the Department of Computer Science at Portland State University. He has also been a computer science faculty member at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the Oregon Graduate Center, the University of Wisconsin, Oregon Health and Science University and the National University of Singapore. He holds a BA in mathematics and computer science from the University of Oregon and a PhD in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University, earned in 1978. He received the SIGMOD Edgar F. Codd Innovations Award in 1997.
