Anastasia Ailamaki is a professor of computer science at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland and director of its Data-Intensive Applications and Systems (DIAS) lab. She co-founded RAW Labs SA, a Swiss company developing real-time analytics infrastructure for heterogeneous big data, and was formerly an associate professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research covers database systems and applications, with particular emphasis on optimizing database performance on modern processor architectures and storage technologies.
