Chan-Byoung Chae

Chan-Byoung Chae is a South Korean computer scientist and electrical engineer born in 1976, serving as an Underwood Distinguished Professor and director of the Intelligence Networking Laboratory at Yonsei University. His research centers on emerging sixth-generation wireless technologies and molecular communications, alongside work on MIMO antenna design, full-duplex wireless systems and machine learning applied to communications networks. Over his career he has produced more than 200 publications with roughly 20,000 citations and holds dozens of patents in the United States, Europe and Korea, building on earlier research positions at Harvard University and Bell Laboratories. He was elected an IEEE Fellow in 2020 and to the National Academy of Engineering of Korea in 2021.
