Jeff Bonwick is a computer scientist who invented and led development of the ZFS file system, later used in Oracle's ZFS storage products as well as at startups including Nexenta, Delphix, Joyent and Datto. He is also the inventor of slab allocation, used in operating systems including macOS and Linux, and of the LZJB compression algorithm, and has held roles including Sun Fellow, Sun Storage chief technology officer and Oracle vice president.
