Douglas Taylor Ross was an American computer scientist and pioneer who served as chairman of SofTech, Inc. He is most famous for originating the term CAD for computer aided design, and is considered the father of Automatically Programmed Tools, a programming language developed to drive numerical control in manufacturing.
