Steven Anson Coons was an early pioneer of computer graphics methods who taught in the mechanical engineering department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before later becoming a professor at Syracuse University. He envisioned interactive computer graphics as a design tool to aid engineers, work that helped shape the development of computer aided design.
