Andries van Dam is a Dutch-American professor of computer science and former vice president for research at Brown University. He contributed to the Hypertext Editing System, one of the first hypertext systems, with Ted Nelson in the late 1960s, co-authored the textbook Computer Graphics: Principles and Practice, and co-founded the precursor to ACM SIGGRAPH.
