Andrzej Blikle is a Polish computer scientist and mathematician, a professor at the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, who worked as a researcher and university teacher from 1962 to 1990 across Poland, Canada, the United States, Denmark and Sweden. He is a founding member, past president and honorary member of the Polish Information Processing Society and a member of Academia Europaea. From 1970 to 1990 he led the MetaSoft project on denotational models of programming languages, work he resumed in 2018 as the Denotational Engineering project, both concerned with designing programs that are correct by construction rather than proven correct only after they are written. He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw in November 2024.
