Brad Chamberlain, whose full name is given in the Chapel literature as Bradford L. Chamberlain, is a computer scientist who works on parallel programming languages. His personal page describes him as a Principal Engineer at Cray Inc. in Seattle and an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. His research interests centre on parallel computation, in particular programming languages, compilers, algorithms, applications and scalability. Most of his current work, in the words of that page, centres on the design and implementation of the Chapel parallel programming language, which began in the Cray Cascade project of the DARPA High Productivity Computing Systems program. The Programming Language Database credits him with David Callahan, Hans Zima and John Plevyak as one of the four creators of Chapel in 2004.
