Bruce Davie

Bruce Davie is a noted Australian computer scientist known for his work in the networking field, co-author with Larry L. Peterson of the textbook Computer Networks: A Systems Approach. He received his B.E. from the University of Melbourne in 1984 and his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 1988, was a Fellow at Cisco Systems where he led the team of architects responsible for Multiprotocol Label Switching, later served as Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific and Japan at VMware following its acquisition of Nicira, was an active participant in the Internet Engineering Task Force from 1993 to 2012 co-authoring 17 RFCs, was named an ACM Fellow in 2009, and chaired ACM SIGCOMM from 2009 to 2013.
