Dai Edwards

Dai Edwards, born David Beverley George Edwards (14 March 1928 to 11 November 2020), was a Welsh born engineer noted for his pioneering work on the series of digital computers developed at the University of Manchester from the 1940s onward. After graduating in 1948 he became a research student working for Frederic C. Williams on the Small-Scale Experimental Machine, known as the Manchester Baby, the world's first stored-program digital computer, and he subsequently worked on the Manchester Mark 1. He is also recognized as a co-inventor of virtual memory.
