James Henry Clark (born March 23, 1944) is an American entrepreneur and computer scientist from Plainview, Texas, who founded several prominent Silicon Valley technology companies including Silicon Graphics, Netscape, myCFO and Healtheon. His research focused on computer graphics, particularly systems for rapid rendering of three dimensional images. He earned a PhD in computer science from the University of Utah in 1974 under doctoral advisor Ivan Sutherland, after bachelor's and master's degrees in physics from the University of New Orleans, and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1998 for the development of computer graphics and technical leadership in the computer industry.
