Neil Wiseman

Neil Ernest Wiseman was a British computer scientist who lived from May 19, 1934 to June 13, 1995. His pioneering research in computer graphics began in 1965 and resulted in a number of inventions and patents, including a pen following screen menu that anticipated the pop up menu, and one of the first systems for distributed computer graphics. His work brought him three patents, more than 70 research publications, and more than 40 students who gained doctorates, and in 1986 the Computer Laboratory appointed him to a personal readership in computer graphics.
