Prateek Mittal

Prateek Mittal is a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Princeton University, also affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and the Center for Information Technology Policy, who works on the design of privacy-preserving and secure systems. He joined Princeton in 2013, and his research on discovering and fixing vulnerabilities in widely used protocols has influenced the design of the Tor anonymous communication network and the Let's Encrypt certificate authority. He received the ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award in 2023 for developing robust methods to preserve internet privacy and security.
