Richard F. Clippinger (April 10, 1913 - January 4, 1998) was an American computer scientist educated at Harvard University under doctoral advisor George David Birkhoff. As a staff member of the computing laboratory at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, he led the conversion of the ENIAC to run as a stored program computer, work recognized with the IEEE Computer Society Computer Pioneer Award in 1996.
