Sunghyun Choi

Sunghyun Choi, born in South Korea in 1970, is an electrical engineer specializing in wireless networks who serves as Executive Vice President and head of the Advanced Communications Research Center at Samsung Research. He earned his degrees at KAIST and the University of Michigan, then worked at Philips Research USA before joining Seoul National University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he was a professor from 2002 to 2019. He also spent a year as a visiting associate professor at Stanford University. He was named an IEEE Fellow in 2014 for his contributions to the development of wireless local area network protocols.
