Tuomas Sandholm is the Angel Jordan University Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and a serial entrepreneur whose research sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, economics, and operations research. He is known for the poker-playing systems Libratus and Pluribus, which defeated top human professionals at heads-up and multiplayer no-limit Texas hold'em respectively, and for applying his combinatorial optimization work to kidney exchange programs and electronic marketplaces. He founded the companies CombineNet, Inc. and Strategy Robot, Inc. to commercialize his research.
