Victor Varshavsky

Victor Varshavsky was a Soviet and Israeli computer scientist, born in Leningrad in 1933, whose research concentrated on threshold logic, probabilistic automata, and asynchronous circuit design. He worked at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute before later joining the University of Aizu in Japan, and studied under Michael Tsetlin. Over his career he authored six books and more than one hundred fifty papers and held more than one hundred twenty Soviet patents along with American and Japanese patents. He died in Tel Aviv in 2005.
