Vladimir Pokhilko

Vladimir Ivanovich Pokhilko was a Soviet and Russian psychologist, entrepreneur, and video game designer, born in Moscow in 1954. Trained in psychology at Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences, he specialized in human-computer interaction and used the early Tetris game to run psychological experiments with users. He co-founded the 3D software company AnimaTek with Alexey Pajitnov in 1989 and collaborated on the game El-Fish, and reporting in Forbes credited him as a contributor to Tetris's development. He died in Palo Alto, California, in 1998.
