William Renwick (1924 to 1971) was a British electronics engineer who served as chief engineer of the EDSAC project at Cambridge University's Mathematical Laboratory under Maurice Wilkes, having worked with Wilkes earlier at the Admiralty Signals Establishment. Wilkes appointed him University Demonstrator in 1947 and later entrusted him with the hardware design of EDSAC 2. In 1958 Renwick joined the Plessey Company, becoming the first Research Manager of its Automation Group in 1965, a post he held until his death in 1971; two prizes bearing his name were later endowed in his memory.
