Procedural Language

RPG (Report Program Generator) is a high-level programming language for business applications, introduced by IBM in 1959 for its punched-card processing equipment and later carried forward through the IBM System/3, System/38, AS/400 and its successor IBM i platforms. RPG's distinctive column-based syntax reflected its origins as a language for describing report generation logic, and later versions, RPG III and the free-format RPG IV, added modern structured and object-oriented constructs.
