X10 (programming language)

X10 is a statically typed, object-oriented programming language developed by IBM Research beginning in 2004 as part of the DARPA-funded High Productivity Computing Systems program, designed for high-performance parallel computing on large, distributed clusters using a partitioned global address space (PGAS) model. X10 introduces places, representing distinct locations of data and computation across a cluster, along with asynchronous activities and clocks for coordinating parallel work across those places, aiming to make large-scale parallel programming more productive than traditional message-passing approaches such as MPI.
