Java is a high-level, general-purpose, memory-safe, object-oriented programming language designed for write-once-run-anywhere portability. Programs are typically compiled to bytecode that runs on any Java Virtual Machine regardless of the underlying hardware, and its syntax resembles C and C++ while omitting many low-level facilities and adding dynamic capabilities such as reflection.
