Software License

Software licenses, the legal terms under which programs and their source code may be used, copied, modified and redistributed. It covers permissive open source licenses, copyleft licenses of differing strength, and the terms of proprietary software and public-domain dedications. A concept belongs here when it names a license or a defined category of license terms. It excludes the organizations that publish licenses and the general legal concepts of copyright and patent, which belong to the Law atlas.
