Primary Source Document

A source that is itself the original record of the fact it supports: an award citation, a technical standard document such as an RFC, a court finding, a press release or an official announcement written by the party the fact is about, rather than a later account of it. Belongs here: ACM A.M. Turing Award Citations, RFC 882: Domain Names - Concepts and Facilities, and Rust Blog: Announcing Rust 1.0, each a first hand document rather than someone else's description of an event. Does not belong here: a book or journal article written afterward to narrate computing history, filed under Historical Archive, and a subject's own general web presence used as a citation for its own basic facts, filed under Official Site rather than here.
