Facts
FAQs
Do I have to release my own application's source code if I build it on eCos?
No for your own application code. You only have to share the eCos code and any changes or files derived from it.
No. The eCos license is a modified version of the GNU General Public License with an exception clause, and its maintainers state that it does not require users to release the source code of applications developed with eCos. What you must share is the eCos code itself: if you distribute anything containing eCos code, you must make the eCos source available under the terms of the GPL, and any changes you make to eCos code, or new files derived from it, must be made available too. The license also lets developers build products without paying royalties, however many developers work on the product or units ship.
