UTEC, also known as UTEC Mark I, was an early computer built at the University of Toronto in the early 1950s, the first computer in Canada and one of the first working computers in the world, though it was only completed in prototype form while awaiting funding for a full-scale version. That funding was instead used to purchase a surplus Manchester Mark 1 from Ferranti in the United Kingdom, and UTEC quickly disappeared.
