Immersive Environments and Visualization

Fields concerned with presenting information and simulated worlds to human senses. It covers fully simulated environments, digital content overlaid on the real world, and the graphical display of data and abstract information so that people can explore and understand it. A field belongs here when it is about perceiving a rendered scene or a visual representation of data. It excludes the graphics algorithms that draw the images, which belong to Computing Methodologies, and the devices worn on the body, which belong to ubiquitous and wearable computing.
