Server-side web frameworks written in PHP, the scripting language that powers a large share of the web. Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, CakePHP and Laminas each give a PHP developer ready-made structure for routing, templates and database access, and several of them are built from reusable PHP component libraries. Laravel is a free and open-source PHP-based web framework, Symfony includes a set of reusable PHP component libraries, and Laminas was formerly known as Zend Framework.
