StarLogo is an agent-based simulation language developed by Mitchel Resnick, Eric Klopfer and colleagues at the MIT Media Lab and the Scheller Teacher Education Program, first released in its modern form in 2001. It extends Logo, itself a dialect of Lisp, and was designed for education, letting students build models of decentralized systems such as flocks, traffic or ecosystems by giving simple rules to many independent agents rather than writing a single top-down program. The original version ran on a Connection Machine 2 parallel computer, later editions ran on early Macintosh systems as MacStarLogo Classic, and current versions are Java-based and run on most modern computers. StarLogo mixes educational, procedural, agent-based and simulation programming styles, uses duck, dynamic and strong typing, and is distributed under varying license terms; a companion OpenStarLogo variant publishes its source code but restricts commercial use, so it does not meet standard open-source definitions.

Entity-backed identity for the typing discipline value this language already carries as an enum fact, resolved to a concept entity by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The enum fact itself stays on the entity unchanged.
