Classic Mac OS is the series of operating systems Apple Computer developed for its Macintosh family of personal computers from 1984 to 2001, running from System 1 through Mac OS 9. It is credited with popularizing the graphical user interface, and was included with every Macintosh sold during the era, with system-software updates typically introduced alongside new Macintosh models.
