BeRTOS

BeRTOS was a real-time operating system for embedded systems, developed by the Italian company Develer and its community, released as free and open source software under GPLv2 or later with an exception allowing closed proprietary applications to run on top of the open base. Written in ANSI C, it used a preemptive multitasking kernel with signals, semaphores and message passing, and its modular, hardware-abstracted design let it run on hardware ranging from 8-bit Atmel AVR microcontrollers to 32-bit ARM processors and hosted environments such as Linux and Windows. BeRTOS first released on June 3, 2004, its final version was 2.7.99 in August 2011, and the project was archived in November 2018.
