Barbara J. Grosz (born July 21, 1948, in Philadelphia) is an American computer scientist and the Higgins Professor of Natural Sciences at Harvard University. She has made seminal contributions to natural language processing and multi-agent systems, and with Alison Simmons co-founded Harvard's Embedded EthiCS programme, which embeds ethics lessons into computer science courses. She was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2008 for pioneering research in natural language communication between humans and computers and its application to human-computer interaction.
