Bart Preneel (born 15 October 1963 in Leuven, Belgium) is a Belgian cryptographer and cryptanalyst who is a professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, in the COSIC research group. He served as president of the International Association for Cryptologic Research from 2008 to 2013 and was project manager of ECRYPT.
