Edward A. Lee

Edward A. Lee (born 1957) is an American computer scientist and Robert S. Pepper Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, particularly known for advocating deterministic models for engineering cyber physical systems. His research addresses the unpredictability of distributed and real time systems, producing tools including the Ptolemy II modeling and simulation framework and, with Marten Lohstroh, the reactors model and the Lingua Franca coordination language, which use logical timestamps to make distributed embedded systems more predictable and reliable.
