Simon Peyton Jones is a British computer scientist and the principal architect of the Glasgow Haskell Compiler, the leading implementation of the Haskell functional programming language. His research spans lazy evaluation and the practical implementation of functional programming, work carried out for many years at Microsoft Research Cambridge and later at Epic Games. He is also widely known in the United Kingdom for computing education outreach, including his role in shaping the national school computing curriculum.
