Trevor Pearcey

Trevor Pearcey (1919 to 1998) was a British-born Australian scientist who led the team that built CSIRAC, one of the world's earliest stored-program electronic computers. Educated in physics and mathematics at Imperial College, he emigrated to Australia in 1945 and was awarded a Doctor of Science from the University of Melbourne in 1971 for his computing work. The Pearcey Award and Pearcey Foundation, which honor achievement in Australia's information and communications technology industry, are named for him.
