BSD 3-Clause License

Software License

The BSD 3-clause license, also called the Revised BSD License, New BSD License or Modified BSD License, is the typical BSD license today, revised from the original 4-clause version by removing the advertising clause; that clause was removed from the official Berkeley text on 22 July 1999. This version allows unlimited redistribution for any purpose as long as its copyright notices and the license disclaimers of warranty are maintained, and it also contains a clause restricting use of the names of contributors for endorsement of a derived work without specific permission. It has been vetted as an open source license by the Open Source Initiative as The BSD License, and the Free Software Foundation states that it is compatible with the GNU GPL.
