DR-DOS

Operating System

DR-DOS is a disk operating system for IBM PC compatible computers, originally developed by Digital Research under Gary Kildall and derived from Concurrent PC DOS 6.0, itself an advanced successor of CP/M-86. Introduced in 1988, it was the first operating system that attempted to be compatible with both IBM PC DOS and MS-DOS, competing directly with Microsoft DOS on the same hardware. Entity-backed identity for the license enum value this item already carries, resolved to a software license concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The license fact itself stays on the item unchanged.
