Honeywell CP-6

Operating System

CP-6 was a command line oriented computer operating system developed by Honeywell, Inc. in 1976. It was a backward compatible work-alike of the Xerox CP-V operating system, fully rewritten to run on Honeywell Level 66 hardware rather than Xerox machines. A terminal emulator allowed personal computers to be used as CP-6 terminals. The system is now discontinued. The lead of its English Wikipedia article is short, so this entry records only what that summary supports: who developed it, when, what it was modelled on, which hardware it ran on, how users interacted with it and that it has been withdrawn. Later releases, installed base and the end of support date are not described in the source and are left for deeper research.
