Microsoft Azure, launched as Windows Azure on 1 February 2010, is Microsoft's cloud computing platform, offering the management, access and development of applications and services to individuals, companies and governments through Microsoft's global data center infrastructure. It spans infrastructure, platform and software as-a-service offerings, from raw virtual machines to managed databases and AI services, and it competes directly with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform as one of the three dominant public cloud providers. Azure integrates closely with Microsoft's other enterprise software, including Windows Server, Active Directory and the Microsoft 365 suite.
