Cypher

Query Language

Cypher is a declarative graph query language, originally developed by Neo4j for its graph database, that allows for expressive and efficient querying and updating of property graph data using an ASCII-art syntax in which patterns of nodes and relationships are drawn directly into the query text. Cypher was open-sourced via the openCypher project in 2015 and forms the basis of the ISO/IEC standard Graph Query Language (GQL).
