Niklas Elmqvist is a Swedish American computer scientist who is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University and a Villum Investigator, directing the Center for Anytime Anywhere Analytics, a research center on augmented and extended reality for data visualization. He was previously a professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he directed the Human-Computer Interaction Lab from 2016 to 2021, and before that was a faculty member in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University from 2008 to 2014.
